Austrian Nationals - Peter Kretschmann memorial

Posted by andraz

Velden, 10.-13. june 2011

Largest Seascape fleet so far of 21 boats from 3 countries, gathered on beautiful Velden lake where it competed for the trophy of Peter Kretschmann, our friend, initiator of Seascapes in Austria and owner of the first production Seascape, that died earlier that year. Austrian part of the fleet also competed for first title of Austrian Seascape national champion.

Fighting the notorious light winds, race committee of YCV managed to send the fleet out for 5 regular flights. Peter Kretschmann trophy went to the hands of Slovak family crew of Tomas Tuleja and Andrea Paparkova on SVK41 Black Pearl, closely followed by Marjan Gorec and Tamara Furlan on SLO106 Porta and Luis Gazzari and Alexander Perching on AUT102 Yacting-Veltden.at also winning the title of Austrian Seascape champion.

Special mention goes to Timmo Kretschmann who together with YCV organized the race on the highest level. Even though Austrian Seascape championship is moving to Trauensee next year we expect to see most of the crews returning for 2012 edition.
