Northern light

Posted by andraz. No Comments

We got following link from our DK agent Per Cederberg showing us that Seascape can be used also as a discovery vessel for exploring Norwegian Fjords. That is if you are man and woman enough.

We believe that spectacular scenery more than compensates lack of swimming clothes.

Autmn part of the Jix&Seascape cup

Posted by andraz. No Comments

After the summer break Seascapes and Jixes gathered for the finale of the 2011 Season. First encounter was in Izola where 11 crews were pampered by light-medium sea breeze and summer like temperatures. Tomas and Andrea on SVK41 managed to score some extra points for the 3rd places on both days which put them in almost unreachable position in yearly rankings, SLO128 helmed by Seascape’s sailmaker Željko Perovič from One sails ended up runner up but the weekend was owned by unbeatable Kiwi Panda team skippered by Mitja Nevečny on SLO8, which won both days.

Grand finale of the 2011 Jix&Seascape cup for Seascapes took place in Velenje lake, in the time when Velenje hosted the biggest Children’s festival in Slovenija. 14 crews that gathered was able to only watch the mastery of Tomas and Andrea on SVK41 that ended up almost unbeatable in the light changeable winds blowing over this less than a square mile big lake.

Also unanimous was praise for the organizers from KVS Velenje that made sure all the crews felt almost like home.

The winners

Title of the winner of the 2011 Seascape cup went to family crew of SVK41, Tomas and Andrea Tuleja, followed by only 3 points by Kiwi Panda team on SLO8 (Luka Baebler, Tomaž Vernik, Igor Požar, Mitja Nevečny) and last year winners SLO7, Gaea+ (Jakica Jesih, Marko Pihlar) that managed to fight off crew of SLO80 by only a point.

All together 29 teams competed in 2011 Seascape cup. All results here

Raid Atlantique

Posted by andraz. No Comments

After wonderful raids in Adriatic organized by Tome Bašič and Marina Horvat from Sailing center, our French dealer Francois Coutant started with Raid Atlantique that runs along the Brittany coast of France. 4 Seascapes joined the journey along the L’Odet river, beautiful îles des Glénans, picturesque île de Groix and City of Sails in Lorient. Even though weather wasn’t med-like crews enjoyed every bit of it. More on the video and off course by contacting Francois on francoiscoutant33@orange.fr

Plymouth Seascape UK Nationals

Posted by andraz. No Comments

After puling some strings our UK dealer Peter Wanstall managed to get “Nationals” title for the first Seascape race in UK. Nationals were run embedded into UK Sportboat nationals, all being part of Plymouth sailing week.
Weather didn’t disappoint and 6 crews from UK, AUT and CRO had to show their skills in winds up to 30 knots. Non surprisingly Jochem Vieser, Seascape UK agent for the southwest and his team for which he likes to say consists of “best amateurs money can buy” took the Seascape18 UK title for 2011. Ratko Štibrič and his Croatian crew managed to nip him one bullet on the last day when the wind dropped.

Results here

We were also very pleased by looking at the Sportboat nationals results which sailed under the PY handicap. Seascape took 3 out of 4 first places including the victory - again by Jochem Vieser.

Velden, 10.-13. june 2011

Largest Seascape fleet so far of 21 boats from 3 countries, gathered on beautiful Velden lake where it competed for the trophy of Peter Kretschmann, our friend, initiator of Seascapes in Austria and owner of the first production Seascape, that died earlier that year. Austrian part of the fleet also competed for first title of Austrian Seascape national champion.

Fighting the notorious light winds, race committee of YCV managed to send the fleet out for 5 regular flights. Peter Kretschmann trophy went to the hands of Slovak family crew of Tomas Tuleja and Andrea Paparkova on SVK41 Black Pearl, closely followed by Marjan Gorec and Tamara Furlan on SLO106 Porta and Luis Gazzari and Alexander Perching on AUT102 Yacting-Veltden.at also winning the title of Austrian Seascape champion.

Special mention goes to Timmo Kretschmann who together with YCV organized the race on the highest level. Even though Austrian Seascape championship is moving to Trauensee next year we expect to see most of the crews returning for 2012 edition.

Grand Prix Ecole Navale 2011

9 teams from FRA, BEL, UK and CRO competed in Seascape 18 class on this year edition of GPEN. “Muscular” would be literary translation from French description of conditions on the race field. 20+ nots of wind and sun provided perfect conditions but also tested the physical preparation of the crews.

With several teams changing on podium places after 10 flights Peter Wanstall (UK) took the victory over the French team of Bobo Sylvain and Croatian Hrvoje Petrič.
